With the blush of dawn, her cheeks aglow,
In the softest hues, her beauty flows.
No heavy jewels, no ornate crown,
Her charm lies in her simple state.
There’s a special joy in helping others look and feel their best. As a makeup artist, that’s essentially my job, but the satisfaction it brings is just one of the many rewards.
Makeup that does not look made up or out is my go to style
Well, all want to feel like the prettiest you could be on their wedding day, right? It’s not only a color or contour style with a makeup look—it’s a way to bring their natural confidence front and center to shine.
Natural bridal makeup is not a look but rather the secret of feeling effortlessly beautiful. It allows their true self to be presented, enhances rather than masks their true appearance, and gives timeless beauty to the photos.
Start with great skincare. In the months before the big day, lavish the skin with plenty of hydrating treatments and a few gentle exfoliating ones.
On the actual day, use a hydrating primer and then a light foundation for a natural, glowing base. Opt for products known to have a lot of staying power but without weighing down the skin.
Please keep it simple and add a hint of romance to the eyes.
Complement the natural eye color with soft, matte shades like peach, light brown, or soft gray, and finish with a swipe of waterproof mascara for a subtle lift. This look is perfect for anyone seeking a touch of drama without going overboard, creating a beautifully framed effect for your eyes.
Long lashes suit so many eye makeup styles; however, if you want them to be a feature to ensure your eyeshadow isn’t dark, they won’t be visible against a dark, smokey eye.
Line your eyes with plum or dark green eyeliner for a “wow” effect.
Well, go for one that perfectly matches your natural lip color, and you can’t go wrong. Soft pink, peach, or nude would work perfectly with this color to brighten your natural lip up a bit, not to take away from the rest of the face. Long-wear formulas also mean minimal touch-ups and that your lips are never left out from being moisturized or feeling comfortable all day.
If you have non-matte lipsticks, you can turn them into matte lipsticks by tapping some powder on your lips after you have applied the lipstick. I recommend using a brush, such as my Eyeshadow K-Brush.
If you are going for a nude lip, ensure you line your lips with slightly darker lip liner than your natural lip color. Otherwise, pale lipstick on its own will wash you out.
Nothing radiates health and happiness quite like a natural flush. Sweep a bit of cream or powder blush onto the apples of your cheeks to mimic the rosy glow of a blushing bride. Finish with a subtle touch of highlighter on your cheekbones for that stunning bridal radiance.
Natural bridal makeup is all about not hiding your real beauty but rather celebrating it, and it should make you feel literally at home because that day will be filled with magic. Natural makeup should make you feel comfortable and look radiant at the same time. So, let your natural beauty shine on your wedding day!
